The U.S. Space Force has awarded All Points Logistics a $250 million firm-fixed-price contract to expand space vehicle processing capacity at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
What Does the Contract Cover?
Space Systems Command said Wednesday the award, issued by the Space Force’s acting portfolio acquisition executive for space access, marks the third National Security Space Launch, or NSSL, Space Vehicle Processing commercial solutions opening contract. Structured as a public-private partnership, the CSO is intended to support additional commercial space vehicle processing capacity at Vandenberg SFB by 2029.
A Department of War contract announcement published July 28 states the agreement covers space vehicle processing facilities at the base. The Merritt Island, Florida-based company is scheduled to complete the work by July 30, 2029. SSC, which serves as the contracting activity, received four offers before selecting All Points Logistics for the deal.
Why Is Additional Processing Capacity Needed?
SSC said the current and future operating environment requires a launch enterprise capable of scaling infrastructure and processes to support responsive and reliable launch operations. According to Col. Dan Highlander, director of operations integration under the portfolio acquisition executive for space access, access to space is critical to delivering the agility, capacity and freedom of movement needed to support national security missions.
Highlander added that the processing facility investments are intended to help meet growing launch demands while supporting both government and commercial space activities.
What Other Processing Expansion Efforts Are Underway?
The All Points Logistics award builds on two NSSL SV Processing CSO awards issued in 2025 to expand launch infrastructure at major spaceports. Blue Origin was awarded a $78.25 million deal for Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, while Lockheed Martin subsidiary Astrotech Space Operations received a $77.5 million contract for Vandenberg SFB.
