What Will the Contract Provide?

According to a solicitation notice published Friday on SAM.gov, selected contractors will provide enterprise AI compute servers, including high-performance GPU servers, as well as rack-scale and pod-scale AI systems, AI inference servers and expansion hardware, high-speed network interface cards, data processing units and related networking components. The solicitation also requires associated original equipment manufacturer software, licenses, warranties and technical support coverage.

How Will the Contracts Be Structured?

The government intends to award up to four firm-fixed-price IDIQ contracts, with a minimum guarantee of $2,000 for each awardee. The resulting contract is intended to serve as a flexible acquisition vehicle for high-performance AI computing infrastructure supporting FBI enterprise initiatives, including machine learning, large language model training and inference, computer vision and advanced analytics. Proposals are due Aug. 17.

How Does the Planned Acquisition Fit the FBI’s Broader Technology Needs?

The planned AI infrastructure acquisition comes as the FBI continues to support data-intensive intelligence missions. In June, Agile Defense’s IntelliWare Systems secured a $145 million contract to provide intelligence analysis support for the FBI’s Threat Screening Center, including threat information-sharing across federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
