Huntington Ingalls, Johnson & Johnson Receive Reserve Officers Association Nathan Hale Awards; Mike Petters Comments

Huntington Ingalls Industries and Johnson & Johnson have been honored with the Reserve Officers Association’s Nathan Hale awards for the companies’ support programs for reserve officers.

The Reserve Officers Association accorded the recognition to Huntington Ingalls for providing employment opportunities to reservists and veterans, the association said Monday.

“I am honored to accept this award on behalf of all the reservists at Huntington Ingalls Industries,” said Mike Petters, president and CEO of Huntington Ingalls and a U.S. Naval Reserve veteran.

Petters noted that more than 17 percent of Huntington Ingalls’ workforce consists of veterans, “many of whom are either active or retired reservists.”

Johnson & Johnson also won the award for the company’s research and wellness programs for veterans.

The Reserve Officers Association will present the awards to the winning companies at its annual STARS Foundation Gala today.
