northrop-Grumman_BLUEThe Northrop Grumman team supporting Annapolis, Maryland’s Robinwood Community Center as instructors on the center’s robotics program has received the city’s Martha Wood Leadership Award for its contributions to the local community.

The company said Thursday the Robinwood Robotics Program is part of the community center’s seven-year partnership with Northrop Grumman’s African-American Task Group, an employee resource group.

The program was established last year to train and mentor interested students from the community on robotics and help them build teamwork through challenges and competition with other communities.

Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides presented the award to the AATG team through Ted Imes, talent acquisition director for Northrop Grumman’s electronic systems sector.
