Globecomm has been awarded a $9.6 million contract to continue providing tracking system services for NATO’s Communications and Information Agency.
The company will perform communication and onsite support services for NATO’s GPS-based force tracking system that works to monitor data and messaging traffic, Globecomm said Tuesday.
NATO uses the tracking system to detect the location of its personnel, identify troops, determine friendly from hostile forces and avoid fratricide incidents.
“We completed an upgrade of this system last year under a separate contract that was previously announced,†said Paul Knudsen, vice president of Globecomm’s Eastern Atlantic team.
Globecomm previously worked to designed and install a force tracking system for NATO under an estimated $74.7 million contract.
