The Tennessee Valley Authority has selected Day & Zimmermann to receive the agency’s Maynard Spence Safety Award for the company’s repair and maintenance work on the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant in Tennessee.
TVA gives the award to recognize partners for their safety measure practices on projects, Day & Zimmermann said Thursday.
The award is named after a Marsh & McLennan employee that focused on job site safety and was killed in the 2001 attack on the World Trade Center.
“We are proud to keep the memory of Maynard alive through our continued commitment to safety,†said Gary McKinney, president of Day & Zimmerman NPS.
The family-owned company has won the award for the second consecutive year.
