Antonio Neri: HPE to Transfer HQ to Houston

Antonio Neri, president and CEO of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, said HPE plans to move its headquarters from San Jose, California, to the Houston area as part of efforts to further recruit technical talent and achieve cost savings.

Neri wrote in a blog post published Tuesday that Houston has been HPE’s largest employment hub in the country and the company has begun construction work this year on the new headquarters in Spring, Texas.

The company will maintain its presence in Silicon Valley by making its San Jose campus the headquarters of its Aruba Intelligent Edge business. The San Jose office will continue to serve as the company’s hub for research and development, tech talent and innovation.

“In addition, our storage business, West Coast territory sales team, GreenLake, software, and other technical talent – along with non-technical talent that chooses not to relocate – will be based in San Jose,” Neri wrote.

He said the move will not result in any layoffs, and relocation to the new Houston site will be “entirely voluntary.”
