SteelCloud has secured a contract from an undisclosed systems integrator to renew licenses for a security technical implementation guide compliance software tool designed to support an information technology modernization effort by the U.S. Air Force.

The ConfigOS tool has been fielded in various classified and unclassified environments and is built to scan endpoint systems and restore STIG controls in two minutes, the company said Wednesday.

The software will also automate more than 40K systems as part of the modernization program.

"We look forward to helping to deliver on the promise of IT-as-a-service for the tens of thousands of systems covered by this license," said Brian Hajost, president and CEO at SteelCloud.

The Air Force seeks to help bases adopt commercial as-a-service methods for end-user device management, enterprise service desk and IT service management capacities through the modernization effort.
