Mercury Systems has introduced a multicore processing module built to provide onboard processing power that will support integrated avionics capabilities on rotary-wing aircraft systems.
The EnsembleSeries CIOE-1390 module houses Intel Atom multicore processors and an integrated BuiltSAFE technology that will allow the device to meet flight safety requirements, Mercury said Monday.
Mercury noted the modules are equipped with dual or quad-core E3900 Atom Apollo Lake processors and feature rugged, small form factor designs. CI0E-1390 has achieved a DO-178C DAL-C certification for its specialized BIOS bootloader software, while a DO-254 DAL-C accreditation validates its circuit card assembly component.
“We are seeing a significant increase in the requirements for manned and unmanned platforms to have their fused sensor streams, platform management, and effector controls such as avionics and vetronics flight safety certified for both defense and commercial aerospace applications,†said Ike Song, vice president and general manager at Mercury’s mission systems business.
The EnsembleSeries CIOE-1390 module is scheduled to be available in this year’s first quarter.
