Sarcos Robotics' defense arm has landed a contract of an undisclosed sum to build a remote-controlled model of the Guardian XO exoskeleton robot for the U.S. Navy.
Sarcos Robotics' defense subsidiary has secured a contract from the U.S. Marine Corps' logistics innovation office to build an alpha version of a full-body powered industrial exoskeleton robot.
Sarcos Robotics and the U.S. Navy have teamed up to assess and field exoskeleton technologies and robots at naval shipyards to perform inspection and handling operations. The company said Monday it will work with Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility to rate and deploy its Guardian XO full-body exoskeleton and Guardian S inspection robot.
