Exolaunch has initiated its launch campaign that will integrate 30 small satellites from the U.S. and Europe aboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 rideshare mission. The launch is scheduled for no earlier than January 2021. “Through our partnership with SpaceX, Exolaunch has become the bridge for multiple European smallsat developers and others from around the world interested to launch on Falcon 9,“ said Jeanne Medvedeva, vice president of Launch Services at Exolaunch.

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions has secured a $17.8M contract modification from the U.S. Air Force to continue helping its research laboratory arm develop low-cost, attritable unmanned aircraft systems that are reusable with minimal maintenance. Kratos said Monday it will support various efforts, including the company's own XQ-58A Valkyrie, to develop low-cost attritable aircraft technology.

James Taiclet, president and CEO of Lockheed Martin, said acquiring Aerojet Rocketdyne will bring in propulsion systems for potential integration with Lockheed-built missile and rocket offerings, Via Satellite reported Monday. Taiclet told analysts Monday during a conference call he expects the transaction to support upfront design, production planning and engineering integration efforts at the Bethesda, Maryland-based aerospace and defense company.

Viasat has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire RigNet, a provider of ultra-secure, intelligent networking solutions and specialized applications. Viasat will purchase the company in an all-stock transaction worth approximately $222 million. “With the acquisition of RigNet, we are accelerating the diversification of our connectivity portfolio and establishing a global foundation for expansion of our remote enterprise service offerings,“ said Rick Baldridge, Viasat's president and CEO.

The General Services Administration needs market information on externally hosted information technology services in support of systems used by the agency's Office of Regulation Management. GSA said Thursday in a SAM notice sought IT services include maintenance and enhancement of the office's eRulemaking System, Regulatory Information Service Center Consolidated Information System and other IT systems.
