Paul Lemmo, vice president of integrated warfare systems and sensors at Lockheed Martin, has said the preliminary design review for High-Energy Laser and Integrated Optical-Dazzler with Surveillance system is set to occur in fiscal year 2019, National Defense reported Tuesday. Lockheed plans to deliver two HELIOS platforms to the U.S. Navy by FY 2020 for integration with the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer and installation at a ground-based testing site as part of a potential $942.8M contract awarded in January 2018.
