Enlitic has secured an other transactional award from the Defense Innovation Unit to deploy an artificial intelligence-based diagnostic imaging technology for a pilot program that will take place at multiple treatment centers run by the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Defense Health Agency.

The company said Tuesday it will incorporate the platform along with associated products and algorithms into hospital information and picture archiving and communications systems as part of the two-year medical AI implementation effort.

Some agency personnel and clinicians will receive training from Enlitic.

Under the contract, the company will also work with VA and DHA to assess how AI technology can support diagnostic imaging functions at agency-operated medical treatment facilities.

The program seeks to create pathways for both agencies to use Enlitic-made algorithm development kits and manage anonymized health care data.

DHA and VA collectively provide medical services to 18M beneficiaries.
