Google has launched a workload management platform based on Google Cloud designed to enable U.S. government customers to create a controlled environment in line with security and compliance requirements.

The beta Assured Workloads for Government tool works to automatically enforce U.S. location and access controls through built-in configurations and restricts the integration of new resources to designated Google Cloud regions, the company said Tuesday.

The tool also enables customers to limit the access of Google’s support personnel based on user-defined factors such as geographical location, citizenship and background checks.

According to Google, Assured Workloads has the capacity to meet the Department of Defense’s Impact Level 4 standards for classified data as well as other requirements under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program and FBI Criminal Justice Information Services Division.

Google is slated to release an update to Assured Workloads that will focus on U.S.-based 24/7 tech support in the fourth quarter of 2020.
