Raj Parameswaran, president of Maximus’ federal information technology business, said that implementing cloud security approaches approved by the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program will help agencies optimize operations while improving customer experience.

Parameswaran wrote in an opinion piece published Friday on Federal News Network that FedRAMP enables agencies to apply a standardized approach to integrating modernized cloud technologies while ensuring the security of systems and networks.

He noted that agencies should establish a clear roadmap for cloud migration and deploy FedRAMP-certified offerings that can incorporate approved baseline requirements, report directly to the General Services Administration and optimize CX to support a remote workforce.

“Due to IT mandates to modernize, many agencies are moving away from legacy systems,” said Parameswaran. “Citizens are demanding a new way of interacting with the government that is not currently supported by those outdated systems. FedRAMP is enabling state, local, and federal government agencies to safely access a wide range of cloud-based technologies while remaining secure and compliant.”
