The Department of Defense has authorized cybersecurity software maker Anchore to offer the hardened version of its DevSecOps-based container security technology to support sensitive DoD programs.
Anchore said Wednesday its federal segment achieved a Certificate to Field designation for its hardened security tool allowing it to operate in DoD environments in line with the Defense Information Systems Agency’s cybersecurity guidelines and the U.S. Air Force Platform One team’s standards for securing containerized software.
The certification serves as a culmination of an 18-month evaluation period with Platform One, which acted as the DoD's enterprise service provider for DevSecOps.
Nicolas Chaillan, chief software officer at the Air Force and co-lead for the DoD's enterprise DevSecOps initiative, said Anchore’s certification will help the Air Force and DoD ensure the availability of various hardened software to support developers’ needs.
“We are proud to see Anchore become available to DoD developers building security into their pipelines,†noted Craig Bowman, vice president for U.S. public sector at Anchore.
Anchore is headquartered in Santa Barbara, Calif., and offers software for container security applications including deep-container image inspection, security and compliance, toolchain integration and configuration management.
