BAE Systems has reported infrastructure, product and integration milestones a year after it completed the acquisition of unmanned underwater vehicle provider Riptide Autonomous Solutions in support of its research-and-development arm FAST Labs.

BAE has made product advancements since its acquired Riptide, including the addition of new functionality to micro UUV and completion of 1MP and 2MP UUV prototypes, the company said Wednesday.

Other milestones include a new prototype and production facility in Plymouth, Mass., demonstration of an integrated platform at the Advanced Naval Technology Exercise and implementation of standard mission-centric system configurations to help streamline the UUV acquisition process.

“As joint all-domain operations become the Department of Defense“™s operational norm, there is increased need for undersea platforms capable of integrating key payload and autonomy technology,“ said John Hogan, director of the sensor processing and exploitation group at BAE.

Hogan added that integration and tech milestones have been made since the Riptide acquisition that position the company to serve the DoD client base and educational, R&D and commercial organizations.
