TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 2, 2020 — Amentum received a potential five-year, $87M contract from the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division to engineer weapons, warfare and weapon control systems intended for military surface ships and submarines, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

The company said March 26 it will provide systems engineering support for the Aegis Combat System and the Ship Self-Defense System as well as guided missile destroyers, frigates and cutters.

John Vollmer, CEO of Amentum and a 2020 Wash100 winner, said the company applies its experience along with software and engineering tools to help military customers address fleet challenges.
