Peraton will compete for task orders in six functional areas to provide support services for the U.S. Navy’s unmanned surface vehicle family of systems under a potential 10-year, $982.1M contract awarded in early February.

Those functional areas are payloads, mission support systems, logistics and sustainment, ashore and host platform elements, non-payload sensors and autonomy and vehicle control systems, the company said Tuesday.

Peraton is one of the 40 companies that secured spots on the multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, which has a five-year base term and five option years.

John Coleman, president of Peraton’s defense and homeland security sector, said the company has been supporting the Navy’s unmanned underwater vehicles for nearly 20 years.

“As the Navy expands its Unmanned Surface Vehicle Family of Systems work, we are proud to be a part of this critical element of the Navy’s warfighting strategy for the future,” added Coleman.
