Rolls-Royce has secured a $69M contract to help the U.S. Air Force sustain components of the T56 aircraft engine.

The company will support a range of engineering efforts such as development, modifications and repairs under the T56 Engine Component Improvement Program, the Department of Defense said Friday.

The program aims to maintain and augment the engine for extended service life. USAF uses the engine to power the C-130 transport aircraft.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center initially obligates $385.9K in foreign military sales fair share funds.

Work under the sole-source contract will take place in Indianapolis through Dec. 31, 2029.
