"I'm always looking for outside organizations to join where I can learn important lessons or hear about other people's experiences that I can apply to my job. That's certainly been the case with ExecutiveBiz. What I especially like is the smaller, more focused gatherings which allows you to get deeper on a particular subject and the very diverse membership. It's helpful for me to hear from folks in different markets and professions."

March 11, 2008 by Brian Lustig
The political theater that is the presidential election season has us well accustomed to the daily barrage of polls and surveys each campaign is trumping. But it is a very different type of survey playing a key role in a massive Government IT contract awarded last year.

Donna Morea to speak at at ExecutiveBiz’s newest member’s only series

March 10, 2008 by Lisa Singh
Talk about eclectic. Long before Donna Morea ever became a leading force at - count it - the fifth largest IT firm in North America, she had a knack for finding success off the beaten path. In her early years, out of college, Morea worked as a studio photographer, then headed to the prestigious Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania. The rest, as they say, is history.
    • Heavy Storms in Forecast for Cyber Experts
March 10, 2008 by Brian Lustig
It is only natural - especially in the heat of a presidential campaign - that discussions about security threats focus on those of a physical nature. But there has been a flurry of attention and activity of late around cybersecurity and the importance of simulating the types of massive digital attacks that governments (U.S. and foreign) and private sector enterprises may increasingly face.

Sun is one of the biggest contributors to the open source community — and Vass aims to keep it that way. In the following Q&A Vass discusses some surprising facts about Sun Microsystems. He also fills you in one of his favorite toys — a 1976 industrial bulldozer — and how he put it to use (don’t try this at home, folks).

Mr. Chris Rasmussen is a knowledge manager and trainer within the US Intelligence Community (IC). Mr. Rasmussen believes that lightweight and inexpensive "social software" tools such as Intellipedia (wiki), blogs, tag connect (social bookmarking service), mashups, etc. provide a transparent and effective way to exchange knowledge over the IC enterprise. These tools, in agency-neutral space, have considerable advantages over exceedingly complex databases and applications often with opaque data access layers isolated within agency footprints. In addition to social software, Mr. Rasmussen argues for the increased use of podcasts/vodcasts and videogame-based learning for knowledge transfer across the IC enterprise. Mr. Rasmussen is also an evangelist for the increased use of "open source intelligence" - that gleaned from public documents, databases, blogs, videos, radio broadcasts, newspapers and discussion boards - within the IC.
