  • CEO "In or Out of your business" quiz

"Copy This" is a recent business book written by Paul Orfalea, the kinky haired Founder and CEO of Kinko's. He named his business "Kinko's" after his college curly headed nickname. His extreme Dyslexia places him in the very good CEO company of John Chambers - Cisco, Charles Schwab, Richard Branson, Craig McCaw and others. One of Orfalea's challenges was to not get caught up in the operation of the business and he quotes Benjamin Franklin who cautions CEO's to "Drive thy business and not let thy business drive thee". Paul Orfalea has a simple 7 question quiz you can take here to see if you know the difference between working on your business or working in your business.

How To Build a Powerful Network

I often hear “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know” as I attend various networking events around town. I thought about the saying when reading Tim Ferriss’, (author of the best selling book Four Hour Workweek) blog post this week on how to build a powerful network. He discusses how the average “Joe” can build a supernormal networks. Click here to read his post on the topic.

    Rodney Hunt
    Co-Founder & CEO
    RS Information Systems, Inc

Rodney Hunt, Co-Founder of RSIS, is no doubt looking forward to a very Happy New Year as a result of the recent acquisition of his firm by west coast based Wyle, an aerospace engineering company. 15 years ago, a IT support company with small disadvantaged business status and a small $5,000 GSA contract began its rapid ascent that has culminated in a deal ensuring significant industry impact and attention. Even better news, if he finds himself with extra time on his hands in a few months, he will never be at a loss for something to watch on TV, considering his favorite program.

    • Dr. DiPentima administered full dosage of growth for SRA
December 11, 2007 by Brian Lustig
If 60 is the new 40, then it is fair to say that $10 billion is the new $1 billion when it comes to the government contractor threshold for tier-one status. As massive, Agency-wide contracts such as Networx proliferate, the resources and staffing required to serve as a prime balloons along with them.
    • Speeding the delivery of Web2.0 capabilities into government
December 5, 2007 by Bob Gourley
IT leaders in government are wrestling with several competing forces in the Web2.0 world. The greatest force is a push for change towards more user-focused computing. But a resisting counter force threatens to delay this change.
