"I'm always looking for outside organizations to join where I can learn important lessons or hear about other people's experiences that I can apply to my job. That's certainly been the case with ExecutiveBiz. What I especially like is the smaller, more focused gatherings which allows you to get deeper on a particular subject and the very diverse membership. It's helpful for me to hear from folks in different markets and professions."

Alion and American Systems: Two Employee-Owned Contractors Acquiring Successful Reputation
September 26, 2007 by Brian Lustig
Employee-owned companies - or those majority-owned by employees through a Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), Profit Sharing Trust or Stock Purchase Plan - barely register as a percentage of all U.S. companies. Many tend to be clustered in consumer-facing market segments (i.e. - supermarkets, fast food), but if you look at the 100 largest (by number of employees) majority employee-owned US companies, there is a fairly diverse industry distribution.

ExecutiveBiz “Been There Done That” Series: CACI Chairman Jack London
It is not easy for the Executive Chairman and Chairman of the Board of a $1.8 billion company with 10,500 employees to convey genuine humility when reflecting upon a career overflowing with personal accomplishments. But it was clear to the room full of local executives and leaders who came to hear Jack London, Chairman of CACI International, Inc. at the ExecutiveBiz “Been There Done That” lunch event series sponsored by Greenberg Traurig on Thursday that this a man far more comfortable shining the spotlight on the company he helped build and the employees who embody it, rather than himself.

New Media Marketing Day: Era of Conversation is next week on October 4
This Direct Marketing Association of Washington Event gets down into the nitty gritty of social media (blogs, social networks like Facebook, etc.).
Specifically, it discloses the underlying principles and tools of conversational communications (keynotes). Then, sessions hammer brass tacks into some of the more popular social media tactics (track 1), and spotlight real live case studies with [shock!] actual results (track 2).
Our stellar line up of speakers and case studies include IBM, NBC Nightly News' lead camera man, Ogilvy, the American Red Cross, Goodwill of Greater Washington, CareFirst, and representatives who have executed campaigns for Coca-Cola, the Gates Foundation, and Seth Godin.
As a friend of Livingston Communications, you are entitled to the member rate, a cost savings of $36 ($189 for members versus $225 for not-yet-members). I hope you'll register today. For the members rate just punch in SITC07NM.
