US Dollar falls to a 15 year low
The US Dollar fell to a surprising 15-year low against a basket of currencies on September 11th and is under pressure in anticipation of the fed’s announcement next week. Experts are predicting a 1/4 to 1/2 point drop in interest rates and that is when we will have a clearer picture of the market reaction. The wildcard remains oil prices which have spiked again as a result of attacks on pipelines in Mexico.
The US economy has become increasingly intertwined with Mexico as our significant continental partner. Add in pressure on exchange rates caused by emigration issues and cross border security as a catalyst for possible further declines.
