New Trend: The 4 Hour Workweek

Tim Ferris, author of The 4 Hour Workweek, on CNBC.
Watch video.
| |
Are you working too many hours? On average, Americans are not only working more hours but feeling more anxiety according to CNBC. Author Timothy Ferris has written an enlightening view on “work” that have placed his book “The Four Hour Workweek” on the New York Times Bestseller list.
While the CEO crowd might not be able to remain competitive in such an abbreviated workweek, they should read the book to ensure their workforce doesn’t try to unplug and join the vagabonding Ferris in his step by step manual. Having read (and enjoyed) the book myself, I really enjoyed Ferris’ perspective that we Americans live a lifestyle of deferred enjoyment. By the time we retire, life has passed us by. Ferris advocates a life that alternates between mini retirements and periods of meaningful work.

Green. It's on the cover of Fortune, Time, Newsweek, and many others; it's a part of large corporate strategies for giants like Google, Apple, IBM, Booz Allen, Lockheed Martin and hundreds more. The once called green movement has shed it’s “tree hugging” past and found center stage in both mainstream and corporate America as the sustainability. There are also hundreds of thousands of dollars to be saved by corporate America each year by reducing energy costs.
ExecutiveBiz presents an expert panel discussion featuring the esteemed panelists. The discussion will explore energy security, sustainable business, and the many ways companies of every size and shape can benefit from a sustainable approach and much much more! This is a must-attend event for all executives.

SharedBook
New York based SharedBook has an innovative way of combining web 2.0 with old fashion publishing.
SharedBook allows consumers to use their own photos and stories to construct a personalized book with their online services. These books can either be professionally printed and sent to your home or viewed on the web as a lifelike flipbook. The site provides different designs for all types of occasions whether you want to capture a favorite vacation or a new addition in the family. SharedBook also enables users to collaborate in real-time by simply selecting the option to share your project and entering the appropriate email address.
SharedBook now has an Open Application Programming Interface (API), which is currently in beta testing. With an Open API, businesses can write programs that will enable their website to integrate data into SharedBook’s platform for on-demand output. This new function gives users the ability to create applications that will stream collected content from their site straight to SharedBook. For businesses, the ultimate goal would be to produce revenue and spread awareness about your company.
